Now open! Welcome back.
After careful consideration, we've decided to welcome visitors back to the streets of Fort Steele.
Of course, given the current situation, adjustments have been made to ensure a safe experience for all. Visitors will notice new health and safety protocols are in place, and that our staff are taking extra precautions in all areas of business. This includes sanitization stations located throughout Fort Steele, maximum 150 visitors per day (first come, first served), physically-distanced eating areas and various other adjustments.
Please note! Fort Steele offerings will open gradually. This will allow us to adjust the experience if necessary, with the intention of opening more fully in August.
What will be open?
The site is open! Explore a selection of heritage buildings, while also enjoying the abundance of fresh air, outdoor spaces and town streets. The majority of buildings will be window-viewing only.

The Fort Steele Railway Company will offer physically-distanced train rides. All aboard! Or should we say, almost all aboard! Please check in advance to ensure the train is running. Rides are $15 per adult, $12 for children.
** Please note the train will NOT BE RUNNING on Wednesday August 5th and Thursday August 6th due to an annual boiler inspection**
Wagon Rides are available, one family at a time. $20 per family.
Trade Demonstrations, The International Hotel Restaurant, Windsor Hotel and Wasa Hotel Museum will remain closed for the time being.
