Due to the current situation, please note the following changes:

ADDITIONAL ADJUSTMENTS:

Maximum 150 visitors per day. First come, first served.

Wagon Rides are available for one family per ride. $20 per family.

Fort Steele Railway will offer physically-distanced train rides. Limited capacity. $15 per adult / $12 per child. Please check in advance to confirm it is operating.

City Bakery is open for takeout service only. Outdoor and socially-distanced seating will be available on the deck. Hours from 11am to 4pm.

Heritage Buildings are open for window-viewing only.

Gift store, restaurant and cafe will not be open. Please consider bringing a picnic, sunscreen, refreshments, bug spray and any other essentials.

Trade demonstrations will not be available at this time.

 

Be kind, be calm, and please stay home if you are unwell. Visitors will not be allowed to Fort Steele if they have any covid-related symptoms. International travelers are discouraged from travelling and/or visiting at this time. As well, to lessen cash transactions, please pay with credit or debit if possible.

 

 

Programming and activities vary by season. Please find our 2020 schedule below:

Spring Season 2020

  • May 1 - June 26, 2020
  • Open 10:00am - 4:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • Shops: Gift Shop, Blacksmith, Leather Worker, Dressmaker, Tinsmith, Gold Panning, Kershaw's Candy Store (various shops will be open daily, please call ahead to confirm specific shops available for the day).
  • Food: Fort Steele Cafe, City Bakery
  • Activities: Daily gossip tours, museum & heritage buildings open for viewing, livestock viewing, weekend (Saturday/Sunday) wagon rides from 11am-3pm.

Summer Season 2020

  • June 27th - August 31st, 2020
  • Open 10:00am - 5:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • Shops: Open Daily: Gift Shop, Kershaw & Son Candy Store, Blacksmith, Leather Worker, Dressmaker, Nugget Norm's Gold Panning, Tinsmith.
  • Food: Fort Steele Cafe, City Bakery, International Hotel & Restaurant, Mrs. Mather's Ice Cream Parlour.
  • Activities:  Daily gossip tours, museum & heritage buildings open for viewing, livestock viewing.
  • Train rides, wagon rides, and living history street theatre. (The train must shut down occasionally for regular maintenance. Please call ahead to confirm availability.)

Fall Season 2020

  • September 1 - October 11, 2020
  • Open 10:00am - 4:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • Shops: Gift Shop
  • Food: Fort Steele Cafe, City Bakery
  • Activities: Museum & heritage buildings open for viewing, livestock viewing, wagon rides from 11-3 (weekends - Saturdays & Sundays and weather dependant) 

Winter Season 2020/2021

  • October 12, 2020 - April 30, 2021
  • Open 10:00am - 4:00pm, 7 days a week.
  • Closed at noon on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day
  • Giftshop
  • Fort Steele Cafe
  • Townsite (including heritage livestock), and museum open to public viewing, (heritage buildings are closed).
  • Sleigh Ride Sundays 
  • Father Xmas Photos (December 6th,13th,20th)
