JACCO: THE STORY OF DAVID THOMPSON

A live first person characterization performance by Al Cluck, enactor, storyteller, teacher. Jacco Raphael Finlay is a mixed-blood fur trapper and trader who tells the stories and exploration of David Thompson, Canada’s most famous explorer and mapmaker, all in first person character.

This Fort Steele Heritage Town program follows curriculum guidelines from the Kootenai National Forest, Libby Montana; the Corp. of engineers, Spokane, Washington and the Columbia River Basin School District #20, Grade 4 History Unit, David Thompson.

Al Cluck brings a lively and loud presentation of “Jacco” and exhibits a travelling trunk of over 300 items of the 1780-1830 Fur Trade Era. No one else teaches in this style as Al brings vibrant awareness to David Thompson as Canada’s greatest explorer: and introduces Jacco as a great historic character in the exploration of  the North West.
