A Special General Meeting of the Friends of Fort Steele Society has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, 2013 for the purpose of updating the Society's by-laws. The meeting is open to members of the Friends of Fort Steele Society only. It will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the International Hotel at Fort Steele Heritage Town. Copies of the proposed amendments may be picked up at the Visitor Reception Centre at Fort Steele between the 10:00 and 4:00 daily, and will be available upon arrival…

Fort Steele is ready to welcome our guests to celebrate the Holidays! Our holiday season kick off begins on December 8th with photos with Father Christmas in the Lambi House with cookies and hot apple cider, sleigh rides, and the showing of Polar Express in the Wild Horse Theatre. The International Hotel will be open for lunch from 11am - 2pm and the Riverside Photography Studio will be open for family photos. This year they donated 1300 donuts for our popular donut game and a cheque for $3600 to the Friends of Fort Steele. Fort Steele will be showcased at Farmfair International in Edmonton from November 3rd through November 7th. Our stunning team of Clydesdales will be on display at Northlands Park in the Expo Centre. We will be having hitching demonstraions as well as providing entertainment for the Heritage Ranch Rodeo and the Heavy Horse Pull. Please see http://www.farmfair.ca/ for a full schedule of events. Tickets are now on sale for our Halloween Spooktacular. Tickets may be purchased at Fort Steele Heritage Town, Cranbrook Save On Foods, Safeway and the Cranbrook Chamber of Commerce, in Kimberley at Blackbear Books, Invermere Chamber of Commerce, and Fernie Chamber of Commerce. Fort Steele is preparing for their annual Thanksgiving Celebration on October 7th from 11AM until 4PM. We still have a few seats left for our Thanksgiving Dinner at the International Restaurant. Please call 250-420-7158 to make your reservations. We will also be having some trade demonstrations throughout the day, "A Taste of Thanksgiving" in the Lambi House, heritage farming demonstrations including the Great Potato Harvest, and live music by the Good Ol Goats! We hope to see everyone on Sunday!
